NAT:<\/strong> Projects that promote the efficient use of biodiversity (renewable, biodegradable, and therefore sustainable material) through green processes that promote the Circular Economy (zero waste and\/or reuse, recycling, or waste recovery)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"kc-elm kc-css-460195 kc_accordion_section group \"><h3 class=\"kc_accordion_header ui-accordion-header\"><span class=\"ui-accordion-header-icon ui-icon\"><\/span><a href=\"#projects\" data-prevent=\"scroll\"><i class=\"\"><\/i> Projects<\/a><\/h3><div class=\"kc_accordion_content ui-accordion-content kc_clearfix\"><div class=\"kc-panel-body\"><div class=\"kc-elm kc-css-820891 kc_text_block list-style-one\"><\/p>\n<p><strong>GICAS \u2013 H2O\/NAT\/SIM<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em><em><strong>Moringa Project in Ecuador (2015- up to the present date):&nbsp;<\/strong><\/em><\/em>The motivation for this project is based on the versatility of Moringa oleifera Lam. in water purification processes, development of food products, rheology, its natural characteristics, and as a biomaterial.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>GICAS \u2013 H2O<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em><strong>Emerging contaminants and metal removal from drinking and wastewater (2014-Presente):<\/strong><\/em> Continuous and non-continuous technologies are evaluated for emerging organic compounds and metal removal using different Moringa oleifera Lam. seed parts. Classic technologies during water treatment applications are also studied.<\/li>\n<li><em><strong>Coagulation-flocculation processes evaluation using moringa oleifera seeds (2016-2018):<\/strong> <\/em>Experimental evaluation of crushed Moringa oleifera Lam. seeds and powder waste.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>GICAS \u2013 SIM<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Weir Project (2017-Presente): Simulation and validation of new weir and channel designs for the improvement of current fluid flow models.<\/li>\n<li>Momentum and mass transport simulations of active compounds through hydrogels (2018-Present): CFD and mass transfer simulations are studied for the validation of drug delivery experimental data using hydrogels.<\/li>\n<li>CFD and mass transport simulations for the recovery of high value materials and compounds (2018-Present): The recovery of high value chemicals from multiphase flows are analyzed.
