Sports Medicine Physical Therapist - Athlete Pelvic Health Job at Spooner Physical Therapy, Phoenix, AZ

Job Description

SPORTS MEDICINE PHYSICAL THERAPIST – ATHLETE PELVIC HEALTH

Treat the Whole Athlete.

At Spooner Sports Institute, we're looking for a physical therapist who wants to build an athlete-focused practice at the intersection of  sports medicine, orthopedics, and pelvic health.

Treat professional and competitive athletes, developing athletes, active adults, and weekend warriors—combining general orthopedic sports medicine with male and female pelvic health expertise to address the needs of the whole athlete.

This is not a traditional pelvic health position.

We're looking for a sports medicine physical therapist who loves working with athletes and brings pelvic health expertise that can make their care more complete.

Your caseload won't be limited to pelvic health. You'll treat orthopedic injuries and the everyday musculoskeletal conditions that affect athletes while also providing pelvic health care when those issues are part of the athlete's needs.

That could mean helping an athlete return from an orthopedic injury, working with a runner experiencing pelvic health symptoms, treating an athlete following pelvic surgery, supporting a postpartum athlete returning to competition, or addressing multiple factors simultaneously when pelvic health and orthopedic issues intersect.

The common denominator isn't the diagnosis. It's the athlete.

Work With Athletes Across the Lifespan

From professional and elite athletes to developing competitors, active adults, and weekend warriors, you'll work with people who want to keep running, lifting, cycling, golfing, training, competing, and doing the activities that matter to them.

The goal isn't simply to treat symptoms. It's to understand  what the athlete needs their body to do and build care around those demands.

Bring Pelvic Health Into Sports Medicine

Pelvic health issues don't exist separately from the rest of the athlete.

Strength, movement, breathing, pressure management, orthopedic injury, training demands, pregnancy and postpartum changes, surgical history, pain, and pelvic floor function can all influence an athlete's ability to participate and perform.

We're looking for a therapist who is comfortable treating  male and female pelvic health and can integrate that expertise into a broader sports medicine approach.

Help Build Something at Spooner Sports Institute

We're not simply looking for someone to inherit a pelvic health caseload.

We're looking for a therapist who wants to help  build an athlete-focused pelvic health practice.

You'll have the opportunity to develop relationships with physicians, athletic trainers, coaches, sports organizations, and other providers while helping educate athletes and the sports medicine community about an area of athlete health that can sometimes be overlooked.

And you won't do it alone.

At Spooner Sports Institute, you'll work alongside physical therapists, athletic trainers, performance coaches, and other movement professionals who share an interest in helping athletes recover, return to sport, and continue performing at their best.

You won't just step into this position. You'll have the opportunity to help define it.

Grow With Spooner

Your growth doesn't stop when you join Spooner.

You'll have access to structured mentorship, internal education, company-hosted continuing education, professional development support, and opportunities to learn alongside therapists, athletic trainers, and performance professionals across Spooner.

You'll also have the support, resources, and freedom to continue developing your expertise in sports medicine and pelvic health while building relationships with the athletes and sports medicine community you want to serve.

Invest in Your Career

Spooner provides competitive compensation, generous continuing education support, student loan repayment, paid time off, 401(k) matching, medical, dental and vision coverage, and additional benefits designed to support you throughout your career.

Help Shape What's Next

This role won't be right for every pelvic health therapist.

And that's the point.

We're looking for someone who loves sports medicine, loves working with athletes, and sees the opportunity to bring pelvic health expertise into a more complete approach to athlete care.

If you're excited by the opportunity to help build something different at Spooner Sports Institute, we'd like to meet you.
