ARTICLE: A new Andean treefrog (Amphibia: Hyloscirtus bogotensis group) from Ecuador: an example of community involvement for conservation

It is a pleasure to share with you an article with the description of a new Andean frog. This work, led by INABIO, was co-authored by Diego Cisneros and Juan Guayasamín, members of the Biosphere Institute-USFQ. To choose the name of the species, a global call was made, ¡627 proposals were received from 36 countries!

The winning names (scientific and common) were proposed by two young Ecuadorians:

Hyloscirtus conscientia: proposed by Carolina Bustillos (19 years old).
Rana nubular torrenticola de Chical: Proposed by Domenique Benítez (14 years old).
