Location: Plano or Dallas, Texas

Shift: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; No nights or weekends.

Summary: This job is responsible for providing orthoptic consultations on patients; teaching ophthalmology residents; and coordinating the operational activities of the department.

Responsibilities: * Perform orthoptic exams on ophthalmology patients including diagnosis and treatment of specific conditions. * Instructs ophthalmology residents, medical students, physician's assistants, and allied health personnel on pediatric ophthalmology. * Plan and coordinate the daily operational activities of the department including direct supervision of the clinic assistant and the ophthalmology residents on rotation. * Provide patient/family education relating to specific conditions, schedule surgeries for the ophthalmology patients, order supplies, etc.

Work Experience * At least 2 years experience in ophthalmic technology Required * At least 2 years internship in orthoptics Required

Education * Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Required * Completion of 2-year Orthoptic Program Required

Licenses and Certifications * Orthoptic certification Required
