Projects

  • Study of the microbiome associated with Scalesia species in Galapagos
  • Proposal for ecological restoration in two habitats within a property located in a protective forest area of Sumaco-Napo-Galeras National Park.
  • Quantifying impacts caused by alien species on native biodiversity and human livelihood in the Galápagos Islands.
  • Hyperabundant Lecythidaceae evolving role for the maintenance of related rare species
  • Origin and phylogeography of native species introduced to the Galapagos Islands: evolutionary synthesis of under-studied species
  • Plan now to save later: use of state-of-the-art technology and scientific information to counteract plant pests in Galapagos
  • Genetic connectivity and ecological aspects of relevant plant species in mainland Ecuador and Galapagos
  • Change in vegetation and climate change: Permanent plots of vegetation in the Yasuní Biosphere Reserve and the Ecuadorian Amazon.
  • Change in vegetation due to invasive plants and climate change in Galapagos islands. Permanent plots of vegetation.
  • Real-time mapping and construction of future predictive models of native and introduced species distribution in Galapagos islands through the use of low-cost unmanned ships
