INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR THE CONSERVATION OF MANGROVES
This July 26 we celebrate the International Day for the Conservation of the Mangrove Ecosystem. Mangroves are unique ecosystems that contribute to the wellbeing, food security, and protection of coastal communities worldwide. They provide vital ecosystem services, they are highly effective carbon sinks, they support a rich biodiversity and provide a valuable habitat for fish and crustaceans. They also act as a natural coastal defense against natural disasters such as tsunamis. Let´s conserve them!
